MD Al Amin

Bangladesh

Hi, I'm Al-Amin, a dedicated youth leader in food systems transformation, pursuing a B.Sc. degree in Applied Nutrition and Food Technology from a university in Bangladesh. My academic journey is complemented by hands-on research experience in food safety, food microbiology, nanotechnology, and health data analysis, with proficiency in programming languages.
Passionate about building fairer, greener, and more nourishing food systems, I am engaged with national and international platforms to amplify youth voices in nutrition and sustainability. I received advanced Training of Trainers (ToT) on Food Systems Youth Leadership from the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and later co-facilitated a Food Systems Youth Leadership (FoSYL) program at the community level. I represented Bangladesh as a National Youth Leader at Act4Food and joined a capacity-building workshop in Tanzania, collaborating with peers from near about 25 countries. I also serve in the World Food Forum Bangladesh Chapter as a youth leadership and capacity-building coordinator under the strategic and planning lead team.

Beyond research, I lead SHIELD (Sustainable Hunger Intervention and Elimination for Lasting Development), a community-based initiative focusing on adolescent hidden hunger and climate-resilient agri-food systems. I also plan to work with multinational corporations, advocating for eco-friendly and consumer-friendly practices by influencing corporate policies. Additionally, I aim to strengthen existing collective actions addressing hidden hunger through indigenous food ecosystems. I envision pursuing higher studies abroad to advance community-driven solutions in nutrition and sustainable food systems.
