Sara Badran

Lebanon

Hi, I'm Sara! I hold a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Management and a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences from the American University of Beirut. With my expertise in Food and Environmental Sciences, I am committed to driving innovation and advocating for sustainable food systems to address climate change.

As the MENA Regional Coordinator at Thought For Food, I actively support innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets, and I organized the first Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) in Lebanon. I participated in the Food and Climate Shaper bootcamp organized by the Future Food Institute and FAO. Furthermore, I have served as a member of the Youth Advisory Board for the Food x Film Festival, UNDP Lebanon Youth Leadership Program Advisory Board, and as a member of the CropLife International sounding board. I was among the 100 selected International Youth Climate Delegates selected by the COP28 Presidency, focusing on the agriculture track and food systems initiatives. My involvement also extends to various projects dedicated to vertical farming, waste reduction, and optimizing the food supply chain, often as part of accelerator programs.

My main goal is to promote positive change through a multifaceted approach, combining science-oriented policy making, technology, and business.
