Indigenous Foods

Indigenous foods are essential for health, sustainability, and cultural heritage. Yet, many young people today are disconnected from these traditions, increasingly consuming ultra-processed foods that harm their health and the environment. By reviving local food systems, we can empower youth to make healthier choices, protect the planet, and celebrate cultural identity.

Why indigenous foods matter

Health🌱

Indigenous foods are naturally nutrient-rich and help prevent chronic diseases such as obesity and type-2 diabetes. They support a balanced diet and promote lifelong wellness

Sustainability🌍

Consuming local foods reduces environmental impact, supports ecosystems, and helps fight climate change. Growing and eating indigenous crops strengthens resilient food systems.

Culture 🏛️

Reviving indigenous food traditions restores cultural identity and community pride. It preserves food heritage and connects young people to the stories and wisdom of past generations.

Our Goals

By the end of 2025, the Indigenous Foods campaign aims to educate and equip 4,000 youth globally with the knowledge and skills to understand, prepare, and consume indigenous foods, promoting healthy eating, cultural preservation, and sustainable livelihoods.

  • 📚 Educate youth: Teach 4,000 young people the benefits of indigenous foods and food processing skills.
  • 🎙️ Amplify stories: Publish at least 6 podcast episodes reaching 2,000 views globally.
  • 🏫 Workshops: Host one in-person workshop per country, engaging 30 participants each, totaling 2,000 youth.
  • 📊 Track progress: Conduct monthly monitoring and evaluation based on established KPIs to measure outcomes
